LOST 2 more pounds!

OK! I lost another 2 pounds. That's 12 pounds in 5 weeks! YEAH! I thought it would have been more since I have been walking a longer distance and for 30 minutes instead of just 20 minutes, but perhaps it will take next week. Let's see.

I have a good friend coming in Friday (5/1) to spend the week-end & help me celebrate my 50th birthday - next week (5/7). He could not come in to town next week. I am really looking forward to spending time together, and celebrating my new number!

More later....

So today I weigh in. I have been really amazing with my activity. I also have followed the BFL food plan well. Soooo lets see. I did my measurements, and have lost a total of 10-1/2 inches since I began. That is quite cool!

I'll post tomorrow, to let everyone know my progress. I am hoping for 5 pounds, but that may be unrealistic. Let's see. Peace out, as my kids used to say.

Woman on a Mission!

Well you all know me by now. I am driven, and on a mission. I reached my first 10 pound loss on Tuesday the 21st. If I continue with a minimum loss of 10 lbs a month, after my second Body for Life round (24 weeks total) I will be below 200 Pounds. My first major goal. After that, well who knows... this will be September 14th! I can get there faster, but this is a reasonable goal for me.

Here goes!

ANOTHER 2.6 pounds GONE!

WOW! The BFL (Body for Life) program really works.... even with no exercise. I was sick in bed for two of 7 days, and didn't do my usual 3 days (20 minute walks around the park 3x) exerecising after work. I am sooooo happy.

I am back on track too. I'll walk today, after work.... even if it is dark outside.

Well Easter Sunday was a GREAT day! The feed the homeless ministry was able to feed 80 people, and gave out socks, jeans, t-shirts, hats, underwear, and shoes to many of those men and women. What a blessing, and what a humbling experience for all of us who attended.

Today, I weigh in at WW. I don't know if any weight was lost. I followed my BFL food plan, however no extra exercise was done.... I was home sick in bed for 2 days, and..... excuses..excuses..excuses! So let's pray I didn't gain anything this week.

More tomorrow.

Easter Sunday is on it's way :-))

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday. I look forward to singing in the choir (in Spanish... funny for me). I am very happy to have lost some weight this week (4 pounds). I am coming out of being home sick for two days with a throat infection.

Thank God it is clearing up in time to sing! My whole neck and shoulder area are in pain..... time for a therapeutic massage.

I am hoping we have some good turn out for our feed the homeless ministry. I'll take some photos & put them here next time.

Well, HURAY! This week I lost another 4 pounds. I'm up to 7 pounds in two weeks. I would love to get this higher. Perhaps I need to step up my exercise routing.

I've been home sick with a bad throat infection, so now I have two days to make up for just sleeping! However, I do feel refreshed.

I'm psyched for Sunday - it is EASTER, and we are going out to feed the homeless once again. I hope we get some press coverage.

Keep watching and I'll let you know how it went.

Week 2 Weigh In Tonight

Well, tonight will be my second weigh in. I have been following Body For Life for a week and a day. I tried my home scale, and it says 249.2. If this is true, I have lost 5 more pounds this week! I don't trust my scale though. That is why I go to weight watchers on a weekly basis. To get weighed in the same time every week, and on the same scale. I also really like the group of people who attend the meeting. The leader is really nice as well. I don't do the food plan however, because I am over figuring out points! UGH! Now I get why people like that program. They spend so much time figuring out the values for what they put into their system, or are planning to put into their bodies that either they are too tired to eat anything, or they are so annoyed, that they don't want to have to figure out any more.... so they don't eat anything else! FUNNY right?

OK, this is a first post, so I'll keep it short. Mostly I am really happy with myself, and my program. Last night I put together my exercise ball/weight system and even thought I was exhausted, at 11 PM instead of watching TV, I did my first Pilates - upper body work out on the ball with attached weights and bands. Let me tell you, it wasn't easy. Wow. I just did 30 minutes. I can imagine how beat I will be when I extend it to the normal 46 minute workout BFL wants us to follow!

My food is really getting easy to follow. My stomach is shrinking for sure. I couldn't even finish all of my breakfast of strawberries and fat free cottage cheese this morning. I added 1/2 a date and 5 almonds as well as 1/2 cup of pure ruby red grapefruit juice (Publix brand). There is no sugar added, just grapefruits. I am still indulging in my caffeine fix in the morning. I nurse it most of the morning. I am trying to wean myself off of too much of this. But it is a very slow process.

Stay tuned for tonights weigh in facts.....

OH! I almost forgot to tell you all about Sunday's "feed the homeless" ministry. We had a wonderful time getting 71 meals to the needy. We also gave out 5 pairs of shoes, lots of t-shirts, a quilt, and some towels. Not to mention some rain jackets, and a couple of hoodies to keep them dry in a rain shower.

WE REALLY NEED you to rally this Sunday. It is EASTER Sunday, and we need men's jeans, men's shoes, and large men's t-shirts. I hope you'll pass by, and either donate something or your time. RESURRECTION BAPTIST CHURCH, 2PM. (2323 SW 27 AVE, Miami, FL 33145 - across the street from Publix Supermarkets)

SEE YOU THERE!
