Update - will attempt to train for upcoming 5K in June

Well, I contend, that I will train with the intention of walking in the same 5K I did last year. With, if possible, a 15 minute mile instead of a 18 minute mile. Lets see how it goes. Since there's no school to worry about, perhaps I will be successful.

Praise God!

College Graduate class of 2010, NOW what???

Well, this is a fine delima we're in. I FINALLY graduated college after 33 years.. OMG that's right folks I first entered college in the Fall of 1977. I attended for a year and a half, dropped out, went back in the 80's, dropped out once, tried again a few years later, & guess what.... THAT's Correct... I DROPPED OUT yet again.

I didn't go back until 2005, when a co-worker (Miriam Q-L) at my branch encouraged me to get back into school. As she had said so eloquantly, "What else do you have to do with your time, and you'll be done before you know it." You were so right Miriam. It only took FIVE long more years, but it got done! Halelujah JESUS, and PRAISE God!

With all my surgeries that came up suddenly over the next three years... boom boom boom, 1,2,3 (2005 - Cancer, beat it through surgery! But suffered from lots of major complications which almost caused my death due to severe infections... 2006 - serious cervical spine surgery... OK, now we're talking weird stuff. Finally, 2007 - fixing the complication from my first surgery, a huge, double incisional hernia which were "the size of grapefruits" according to the doctor.) I still kept trying to go to school.

Then for many months I kept hearing the adds on Spirit FM radio to attend Trinity International University's EXCEL program for those who wish to get a degree while working.... I tried to enter into the "Psychology" program, but there weren't enough enrollees... BUT have no fear, the Elementary Education program WAS open. So I went for it. WOW am I happy I decided to do that. I have loved every second of this program. I really learned so much, and I love working with kids. I wanted to be a children's librarian when I first entered the program, but now I am thinking of pursuing the teaching profession. I really loved working with the kids, and they seemed to love me too.. SO let's just see where God will take me.

Funny thing about the adds I heard... a very short while after I finally decided to contact and enroll in TIU's program, the radio station closed down. God was really working hard there. He kept pushing that program into my head until I heard it, and then let it go.

So, I am awaiting God's guidance on my next destination. I get offers to attend teaching job/recrutiing fairs on a regular basis all over the US, and I am wondering if I will go to any of them. I am keeping everything open in my mind... and waiting to see where God is directing my life from here. I know He has a plan for me, and I have to follow it. I just don't know which way it will take me. For now, I am moving in every direction He sends me, blindly in the hopes that I am receiving His ques properly, and working for the direction He wishes me to go.

I continue to have faith in our Father & Savior, that THEY have a wonderful plan for me, and I will follow as many paths as THEY choose to send me down. I put an application in for teaching drama at Gulliver Academy to High School students. Let's see if they contact me for an interview.

The library has a freeze on hiring for now, but there's always hope the librarian trainee program will in fact open up before I go some where else, or in another direction. In case it does, I am enrolling in the Masters program for Library Sciences. With the hopes of becoming a children's librarian. If it doesn't open up before I get a teaching job offer, then I will follow the way God wishes me to go, and complete the degree any way. I can allways go back to MDPLS, upon completion of my degree, and apply for a Librarian position, later. Let's just see where God is taking me.

Don't you just LOVE surprises!
